Six Sigma Green Belt Project

I led a Six Sigma Green Belt project to fix excessive truck idle time at load and unload locations. Using the DMAIC process, I tracked idle time data and mapped out the full process from arrival to departure. The analysis pointed to two major problems: poor scheduling and slow, manual check-ins.

I rolled out scheduled delivery windows and a QR-based check-in system. After implementation, average idle time dropped from over 30 minutes to under 15. I backed it up with data, ran a one-tailed t-test, and put a control plan in place to keep the gains.

This project cut waste, improved driver turnaround, and saved fuel and all with zero added labor or cost.
